The final chosen genre for my magazine - Alternative Rock

After look at artists and bands within alternative and indie rock it seemed to broad of a genre to do. And so i decided to pick one and have chosen to alternative rock overall. In progress towards this i have created a mood board of alternative rock magazines that will help me decide on the colour scheme for the magazine.

Below we can see the most frequent colour used is black or shades of black. This likes in with the rock feel that is given to each of these front covers. White is mostly used for text and an alternative colour is given accordingly to the artist featured on the page. NME and SPIN use red as there third colour. The colours orange, blue green and yellow are used amongst the other front covers too.

Overall from this mood board of magazine covers i can take away that the two main colours, also conventional colours of  alternative rock magazines are black and white. For my magazine i plan on using black, white red and yellow as a basic idea in a built up towards designing.
